The professions within O'biozz
The professions within a craft company specializing in the production of wooden hot tubs, saunas, and showers are diverse and require specialized expertise. Here is an overview of the main professions involved.
The carpenter or cabinetmaker is at the heart of the production process, working with wood to create the structures.
They receive solid cedar beams from Canada and begin envisioning what they can create from them. Bath staves, sauna and shower panels, or relaxation beds?
What guides them is the cross-section and length of the beams, but above all, the grain direction of the wood—whether flat-sawn, quarter-sawn, or rift-sawn. That’s where the trained eye of the seasoned carpenter comes in.
Only then will they begin by cutting and ripping the beams, working with or across the grain as needed.
Next comes the wood drying phase, which lasts several days in our specially designed wood kiln.
After 10 days of drying, the carpenter can begin machining the staves, fully transforming them into parts that, once assembled, will be used to build a sauna, spa, or other equipment.
This profession requires great precision and in-depth knowledge of woodworking on hazardous machinery.

Designer / Draftsperson
The designer creates the plans and models of the products. They must combine aesthetics and functionality to design wellness spaces or products that are visually appealing, practical, and built to last. Next, they must formalize their specifications and turn them into a 3D model. For this, we use the professional versions of SketchUp and Netscape.
Installation technician
This technician is responsible for installing spas, saunas, and showers at clients’ locations. They must ensure that everything is properly assembled and functions perfectly. They also need to juggle multiple tasks at once.
Quality manager
The quality manager oversees each stage of production to ensure that the products meet quality and safety standards. They carry out regular tests and inspections, and check everything before the product is packed onto a pallet.
Sales representative
The sales representative is responsible for promoting and selling the products. They must have a solid understanding of the technical features of the spas, saunas, and showers in order to provide the best possible advice to customers.
After-sales service
The after-sales service team ensures follow-up after installation and provides support in case of any issues. It is essential for maintaining customer satisfaction and the company’s reputation.
Multi-skilled employees
In a small craft business, it’s common for employees to be multi-skilled and handle various aspects of production, installation, and after-sales service.
