Origin and use

The Japanese bath, also known as ofuro, is a bathtub made from Hinoki (Japanese cedar).
In everyday use, Japanese baths are filled with hot water and are meant to warm those who immerse themselves in it. Some of our clients choose to fill them with cold water instead—see cold bath.
Anyone who has lived in or even just visited Japan knows about the traditional wooden Japanese bath!
Indeed, every Japanese home or apartment has one, and those who don’t yet have one often dream of owning it!

Bath description

Our range of wooden Japanese baths can be installed indoors or outdoors.
Our standard Japanese baths are made in four different exterior diameters—120 cm, 150 cm, 180 cm, and 210 cm—to better suit the available space and number of users.
The wood is first-choice Western Red Cedar—knot-free, resin-free, defect-free, straight-grained, and kiln-dried for maximum stability.
Solid wood with a thickness of 40 mm, curved in shape to ensure better watertightness and a softer line that greatly enhances the overall aesthetics.
The interior height of our Japanese baths is 64 cm, with an exterior height of 76 cm.
They come standard with a chrome-plated brass click-clack drain.
Please note that there is no overflow, but one can be added if needed.
